Symposium registrants are invited to submit scientific abstracts depicting original research or clinical practice relevant to the field of fetal cardiology. Outstanding abstracts describing basic scientific research and clinical studies on fetal cardiovascular development, diagnoses and/or treatment of fetal cardiovascular abnormalities, and other perinatal cardiology topics will be selected for oral presentation at the Symposium. The Organizing Committee will consider research presented at other scientific meetings.
Written abstracts should be submitted in English and must be limited to 300 words. Abstracts should include the following elements: title; last name, first name, and degree of each author; institution where the research was performed (include city and state or country); background/hypothesis, materials and methods, results (include statistics if appropriate), and conclusions. Title should be type in upper case and define the topic and not contain abbreviations. Generic names for pharmaceuticals, biologic and medical devices should be used in place of trade names. Tables and figures will be accepted as images and should be numbered and titled/described clearly. Submit the abstract as an attachment to email@example.com with the subject line “Abstract Submission” to alert Todd Pratt, Symposium Coordinator, of your submission. Deadline for written abstract submission is August 27, 2018.
Authors will be notified by email no later than September 17, 2018 as to the acceptance status of the abstract. Authors of accepted abstracts will display their abstract as a poster (no larger than 4 feet by 6 feet) starting on Saturday, November 3, 2018. On Sunday, November 4, 2018 afternoon, there will be dedicated time for authors to answer questions while the attendees view the posters. However, we ask that the posters remain up for the duration of the Symposium for attendees to view. Abstracts should be taken down by 1 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
A select number of abstracts will be chosen for oral presentation during the Symposium. Authors selected for oral presentation will be notified by September 17, 2018. The prepared PowerPoint/Keynote slide presentation should be strictly limited to 7 minutes. The Organizing Committee will email instructions to upload the slide presentation for review prior to the Symposium. Oral presenters will be notified of their assigned presentation time prior to the conference.
One author of each of accepted abstract must register for the conference and will receive a $100 refund on their registration. An award will also be given for the best abstract oral presentation.
